The third story

The writer talks about a difficult time in her life when depression and loneliness dominated her life and made keeping her social life and going to school difficult to impossible for her. She also talks about the help she received from roommates and common misconceptions about depression she encountered.

The second story

The writer experiences depression as a something awful lurking in the dark, being stuck in a deep pit and being overwelmed by a sumo wrestler she has to carry around everywhere. Yoga practice, friends and an open attitude brought here some relief and courage to face life again.

The first story

A deeply personal story about my own struggle with depression and my reason for starting this website. Depression brought me to a dark place and almost cost me my future. I’m not completely done with it, likely never will be. But at least I brought some much needed purpose and structure in my life. It’s not perfect, but much less shitty than it used to be.
